The Searle Blog
My name is Lennon Searle and I'm an upcoming music artist from Thanet. My most recent album is called 'Escape', focusing on an idealised situation in my life. Here is my story...

Why did I become a singer?
I know you all probably believe it was my lifelong dream to become a singer but the truth is I kind of fell into this! One night I was struggling with my emotions so to let it all out I started writing how I felt in the form of a poem. A few days later a musician friend of mine noticed the catchy rhythm and for a laugh we decided to record it (we were literally in a tiny cupboard recording my vocals on his phone!). Then he shared it with some producers he knew and now here we are! Hopefully this inspires you all to always stay creative <3

Why did I write 'Escape'?
Escape was written at a very desperate time in my life. My partner had just left me and this was how I coped: creating a situation (no matter how toxic) in which we ended up together still. I'm officially over the heartbreak now, and we are both very happy seperately, so this song is now for my fans to enjoy.

Who is my main inspiration?
I have a very obvious influence from my favourite artists from the 70s and 80s. Of those I'd say my main influences were bands like Redbones (infamous for 'Come and Get Your Love'), Norman Greenbaum ('Spirit in the Sky'), or Blue Swede ('Hooked on a Feeling'). My music is very much catered towards others like me who appreciate older music - aka if you've ever had the thought 'I was born in the wrong generation' then join the club!
What are my plans for the future?
I have multiple albums I'm currently producing right now which we are hoping to be released early 2025. I'm also starting to widen my horizons and start an acting career - it shouldn't be too long until you're seeing me on the big screen!

What instruments do I play?
I actually play two instruments - the trumpet and guitar. During school I actually thought I would pursue being in a band as I didn't think my songwriting would be popular. Luckily I've found a group of fans who appreciate older styles of music.
PS. If you listen closely you can hear me playing trumpet in the background of a few of my songs across my albums.
